This week saw the debut of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Episode 6 is on Amazon Prime Video and fans of the series are already declaring it the best episode of the show, and we’ll say it now, spoilers follow! After promising to battle the goblins and the men of Southlands, the fight finally takes place, with Arondir character Ismael Cruz Córdova leading the dwarf charge (and taking a few hits). Naturally, this massive bloody battle also managed to collide with the soldiers of Nimnor who had begun their galloping journey towards Middle-earth last week. as a result of? An explosive episode that made everyone cheer.
Not only did fans get a chance to see Arondir take on several Orcs, but Galadiriel and Halbrand also made their way to The Southlands and had the chance to take on Adar. After he is defeated in combat and captured, some strange new details about both Halbrand and even Adar’s past become apparent. Not only has the former goblin been confirmed to be one of the elves corrupted by Morgoth, but he is also alleged to have killed Sauron.
There is also a tense moment as Halbrand seems to clearly recognize Adar, who does not return the favour. In the end, the most explosive thing in the episode happens, literally, as it’s revealed that Sauron’s sword/key was a major part of Adar’s plan. After being put in place and rotated in the right direction, it shoots a torrent of water into the area, leading directly to the dormant Dom Mountain, causing it to explode.
